MODELS OF LEARNING

I have chosen this chapter because  as a future teacher it is very important to know the  difference between learning and teaching in order to avoid problems in the classroom and the learning process. For this reason, I want to mention the three theories developed for educational psychologists.
Behaviorism, according to behavioral psychology, human learning is the acquisition of new habits through a stimulus- response process. In other words, when people do something the same way many times.Besides, language consists of small units that are arranged into a system accoording to certain rules. It means, students are learned by practice  and repetition.
Cognitivism, according to cognitive psychology, learning is a rational activity based on understanding rules that we cannot immediately observe.Besides, language is a mental process that involves perception, motivation and experience using  learning tools such as: logic , reason, exploration and inference.
Constructivism, according to constructivist theory, people buil knowledge by sharing and communicating with each other.Learning is a an active process in which learners discover new meaning by interacting with the environment and one another. In other words, cooperative learning is the center of class activities because students work together and each group member has specific responsabilities.
In conclusion, I'm interested in these theories in order to get the student attention and they feel comfortable with the learning process and curriculum.
